Dear pigeon fanciers and friends, hope you’re all well.

Whoa! Another year!  Two thousand twelve its here to stay, so I guess all I can say is,  let’s make the best out of it.  Let’s keep on doing what we do the most here in America. Work hard!!!!!!  And like my former boss and still dear friend to me, Mr. Vagn Jensen, used to say: “and if things are not going well, work even harder”

Here at the California Grand Pigeon Race ranch, we’re doing just that–working harder! Getting ready to soon start receiving the new baby pigeons for the next tournament. Thanks God that

lately the weather turned around, and now we’ve been having one of the most beautiful winter times ever in southern California. Lots of sunshine and cool brightness.  Great for outdoor work.

So, taking advantage of such beautiful weather, other little projects are starting to take place around here as well. For example, the building of an outside aviary, where to place our white doves. They’ve been part of the family for a long time and deserve the best. The same goes for the Lady Gouldians. “Ovi’s  beloved finches”

We  hope next time you visit us, you’ll find in our little ranch a more environmentally  friendly place, where you can actually have a peace of mind... especially if you’re a bird lover! We’re looking forward to seeing you soon and be honored by your support and sponsorship.  Join our race today!

As always, don’t hesitate to give us a call if you like to stop by or have any question at all.

    God bless,

UPDATE 12 - 12- 11

Dear pigeon fanciers and friends, so good to be back for our next 2012-1213 tournament.  Happy holidays and new year,  to you all!

Today, December 12, 2011 we had the first snow fall of the season.  Ha, ha, ha!!!  hooo, hooo, hooo!!!  Love it!!!! It was like waking up to a completely different world.  A snow covered world...  It does happen here in the surrounding Los Angeles metropolitan areas, believe it or not! And I feel very privileged to live through the experience.

As usual, in winter, preparations begins in the loft, so that everything will be ready for the arrival of next tournament youngsters, which will take place in early in spring.  Everything must be kept clean and disinfected, so the chances of disease outbreak among the new comer are kept at a minimum label.

And so, saying this, it means back to a busier work schedule every day from now on. But is all worth it! At the tournament’s end, not only did we come together and have fun with our birds hobby, but we also contributed a tiny seed of light and hope, in the life of less fortunate people as well. People like the family of our first sponsored child Johnny Casseus, in Haiti. Johnny has changed a whole lot in the past three years since first sponsored by the California Grand Pigeon Race. He looks more like a well mannered young man everyday. Johnny and  his family wishes us, nothing but the best. Johnny has expressed in his yearly report card, how  grateful he is for our support. And i guess all i can tell him on behalf of us all, is: we’re honored we can help.

Here at the California Grand Pigeon Race we’re committed to keep helping and sponsoring more kids and families in the developing world. And all we need is your support. Help us make the 2012-2013 the most exiting tournament will ever have. Your participation will be honored with hard work, respect and dedication, so you’ll continue to support and recommend our event in the future

Please, don’t forget to check out the race rules & regulations before reserving your entry.

By the way, world vision.org is accepting a tax deductible donation of $15 dollars, which will bring lots of clothes, shoes and food to kids in great need in different parts of the world. Take a look at their web page! There is an amazing story about a Romanian family, who’s girls couldn’t play outside in the snow, even thought that was what they wanted the most. They need it warmer clothes, shoes, etc, but couldn’t afford much. Now, thanks to a world vision program in that region, these Romanian girls and many more like them, can play outside and have a more productive life. They’ve been provided the amenities needed to live in such freezing conditions. I thought it was a heart warming story. The kind that makes you think: “Gee, i thought i was having it really rough”

Any way, as always, please don’t hesitate to give us a call if you have any question or would like to stop by.

Once again, happy holidays and a better new year for us all.

God bless.
