California Grand Pigeon Race Rules

 2011 RACE RULES

 TWO RACES IN ONE

 

A RACE:

a-   Each entry is a team of three pigeons, with all three pigeons competing in the race at

       no additional charge.  The entry fee per team is $1000 U.S. dollars.

 

 b-  $600 dollars is to be paid out in prizes.  $400 is to cover perch fee and

       Our Children sponsorship program.

 

c-   For only $200 dollars perch fee deposit you can secure your spot in A race.

        This deposit must be paid before, or with shipment of birds.

 

B RACE:

a-   Entry fee is $330 U.S. dollars per bird.

 b-     $200 dollars is to be paid out in prizes. $130 is to cover perch fee.

 c-      For only $65 dollars perch fee deposit per pigeon, you can secure your spot in B race.

           Or enter a three pigeon team  for $300 dollars and save $90 on perch fee.

 

 1-     Perch Fee: Money to cover a year long hard labor, taking care of the birds,

         so they stay as healthy as they can be.  This  includes, cleaning the aviaries twice a day,

         laboratory and veterinarian services, medications, feed, road   training trips, special needed

         electronic equipments, tools and most important, Our Children sponsorship program.

 2-     Prize Fee: Money to be paid out to the winners contestants.  

 3-     Both races will be flown in conjunction from the north of California,

           through the Sierra Mountain regions, following the CA 395 HWY course.

           Very nice passages! The pigeons should love it!

 4-     The distance to be flown is 350 miles, and all prizes will be awarded by clocking positions.

 5-     20% of the total prize fee, for both races combine, will be paid out in Average speed.

          All activated birds,  regardless of the race in which it was enter in,

          will be competing for this particular prize.   This is a great way to have all birds

          in our tournament, compete against each other!

 

 6-     Average speed will be awarded only to the top three pigeons that accumulate

           the best percentage points during  the 150, 250 and 350 miles as the final race.

            That is a total of seven hundred fifty miles flown by these birds.    

   

 7-     If more than 400 birds are activated, then the distance to fly will be 400 miles,

          with the 200 and 300 replacing the 150 and 250 for the average speed prize.

          These will be a total of  900 miles.

 

 8-     The remaining perch fee, for both races, must be paid by November 1st, 2010.  

          A friendly reminding note  will be send to you, so you won’t forget.

 

 9-     The prize fee for both races must be paid by March 1st, 2011.

          That will be a week  prior to our first official tournament.

 10- Birds will be accepted March 1, 2010 through August 30th, 2010.

 11- If all your entries get lost prior to our first official tournament,

       you’ll receive the same equivalent in free entry,  for next year event.

 

 12- Any pigeon not activated by March first, 2011 became the property of CGPR.

       These birds will be available to be entered into the race by a third party,

        whom may want to activate them, by paying the full prize fee and any owed perch fee.

        Activated birds, will become the property of the person who paid for their activation.

 

 13- Upon their arrival, all pigeons will be vaccinated and placed in our quarantine loft. 

       International entries will have to make the arrangement for their quarantine cost services.

 

 14- The first top 60 prize winner pigeons will be auctioned off.   50% will go to the owner and 50%

       will go to Our Children sponsorship program, through World Vision.Org

 

 15- Birds not auctioned, will be returned to owners in the USA for $60 dollars

        each in shipping expenses.

        Birds not claim one week after the last race, will become property of the CGPR.

 16- As the number of birds in our lofts facility is restricted, a first come first served policy is applicable.

 17- Road training activities will begin in late 2010, slowly progressing up to the 100 miles toss,  

        before the first official tournament.

 

 18-  By weekly UP-DATES with general news, will be posted in our web site as to how

         the event is progressing.

 19- All taxes are the responsibility of the winners.

 20-   All race committee decisions are final.
