The idea and the concept behind California Grand Pigeon Race and Our Children it is simply to help the poorest and the more in need world wide. Millions of children are suffering and dying of starvation, untreated diseases, and living in the most unimaginable conditions a human being can endure. An alarming number of them as young as 5 years old, have to survive on their own, having lost their entire families to the misery of war and diseases like aids and malaria.  It is a sad reality that needs to be confronted and dealt with as the only light of hope for these unfortunate children. And California Grand Pigeon Race is proud to become part of the solution.

There are already some accredited humanitarian organizations and amazing individuals, men and women, making front line news in the war against poverty and especially in the life of these children. Such an organization is WORLD VISION. Founded in 1950 by Dr. Bob Pierce to help Korean children, it soon expanded its services to other countries and later on world wide.  To date, fifty eight years after it was founded, World Vision remains as strong as ever, doing what it does best; helping children and families in need world wide.

Because of its principals, integrity, dedication, overall values and proven track record in helping the poorest of the poorest, World Vision has become the number one choice humanitarian organization with whom the California Grand Pigeon Race would work in coordination with to sponsor as many as 300 kids in the near feature. These sponsored children will be able to receive proper alimentation, clothing, education, access to medical care, access to drinkable water, and hopefully see them grow up to become fine citizens of the world. The name, age, sex, country of origin, and a picture of each of the children, together with a periodically report of the progress they’ll be making through our sponsorship, will be posted in this link of the California Grand Pigeon Race web site.

It is my intention as California Grand Pigeon Race director to make sure this goal is met. Of course, I’m aware of the big task ahead of me, for it is not up to my self to make it happen. We’re talking of an estimated $110,000 US dollars every year to support the three hundred kids mark. Such an ambitious project is going to take the cooperation of large numbers of fellow racing pigeon fancier, not just from the USA, but from around the globe.  And if you think the task is not doable, just look a little bit closer.  The racing pigeon sport generates millions of dollars every year, and a handful of individuals are joining the benefits of it. 

Remember, pigeons are the symbol of peace.  What better way there is for us to honor our sport and our little athletes of the wind, then by flying them to benefit the children of the world? I think, none! Please, help us save the life of a child in need. Join the California Grand Pigeon Race today and become part of the new generation in pigeon flying.  

HOW CAN YOU HELP US HELP THESE CHILDREN?

-Support our first international charity race scheduled for the spring of 2010, by making your reservation today.

-Tell your friends and family about us.

-If you can not afford the entry fee on your own, talk to a friend or a family member that might be able to help you with the fees. Or even call us. We can always be reasonable and work a plan together.   

-If you’re not a pigeon flyer at all but are interested in participating in our race and helping these children, please call us. We can facilitate you with the name and information of some of the world’s greatest and more successful pigeon flyers, who’ll be glad to breed some special baby pigeons for you, so you can enter them into the race.

-Yourself, a group of friends or family, can came together and enter a team of pigeons for OUR

CHILDREN; which mean, that If any pigeons from that particular team win any prizes,

all or part of that money, will be donated to OUR CHILDREN sponsorship program.
